Northwestern Wildcats

Trenton Runser

Braeden Reynolds

This week we had three more teams come in starting with Northwestern. The Wildcats won their first game this past week which is a little deceiving as they've been in some very close games this season. Northwestern has dealt with some tough injuries, but numbers are up and the Wildcats are looking for a big second half of the season. Coach Ben Fenell came to lunch with a pair of talented players in Trenton Runser and Braeden Reynolds. The two have been big-time senior leaders for Northwestern and key parts of the line on both sides of the ball.

Fort LeBoeuf Bison

Emery Rand

Aiden Struchen

Next up is Fort LeBoeuf. The Bison improved to 3-2 with a thrilling 14-10 win over Harbor Creek. Fort LeBoeuf could easily be 5-0 this season with two losses on two missed field goals to end the game. LeBoeuf has battled a brutal schedule and still has big region games to go with Slippery Rock, Hickory and Sharon. Assistant coach Rich Kolash brought Emery Rand and Aiden Struchen. The two are senior leaders for the Bison. Rand is a solid lineman and Struchen moved from tight end to running back and is a force coming out of the backfield. His 51-yard touchdown run to start the third quarter against the Huskies changed the momentum of the game.

North East Grapepickers

Colton Owens

JJ Wittman

Finally, this week is our first repeat of the season with North East. The Grapepickers are 3-2 on the season and are coming off a big road win at Class 4A Warren. North East has a strong group of seniors looking to make one last run together this fall. Assistant coach Gregg McIntosh brought Colton Owens and JJ Wittman to lunch this week. The two have been senior leaders for North East all season. Owens is one of North East's top rushers and Wittman is their top receiver. Both players also contribute on defense as Owens leads the team in tackles. North East has several big-time games left as they chase a playoff spot.
